Classic George B. Ayres "Portrait of a Beardless Abraham Lincoln" with George B Ayres' Signature on the back of the photograph. The image is 6 7/8" X 8 7/8". The photograph was taken by Alexander Hesler in 1860. Ayres purchased Alexander Hesler's original negatives from the Chicago photographer shortly after the Civil War. In the 1880's he printed images from the original negatives, this being one of those images.  A very rare and historic Lincoln photograph.
