Barnett, Marian Elizabeth (1913-1978)
Mrs. Barnett, a pupil of Charles K. Ross of Morro Bay, received her basic training in drawing through the facilities of the California adult education program in San Diego and recently won a blue ribbon for her work in the Pismo Beach art festival. Her view of the present-day trend in art toward interpretive work based on realism leans to the theory that a modern renaissance is bound to come, in parallel with the advances in the natural sciences.
Mrs. Barnett who is known for the soft tones of her florals and her sparkling seascapes, has studied with Robert Geise of the San Diego Fine Arts Gallery, Leon Franks of Laguna Beach
