What a beauty! As seen at the Museum of International Folk Art (as part of the Girard collection) a large Peruvian clay roof ornament from the town of Quinua, Ayacucho. These churches are placed as roof ornaments, on the ridge line, as a protection against evil spirits. Every house in Quinua has at least one, including the church, which has many. You also see them frequently on the rooftops of Ayacucho. Some are so large they can be displayed indoors as a feature.
