Description:

Zamble masks are part of a dance trio and represent a capricious and fearsome nature spirit. They combine animal and human features, often including antelope horns and the jaw of a dog or crocodile. Historically, Zamble masks appeared during a man's second funeral to commemorate the deceased's accomplishments. The mask is carved from wood and features intricate designs and natural pigments with animal hair trim.
